An adverb describes how the verb is being done. In English, most adverbs are formed by adding ‘-ly’ to an adjective (slowSlowly).
In French, an adverb is created by adding -ment to the feminine of the adjective.
masculine feminine adverb heureux lent fou

madly If the adjective ends in a vowel, add -ment to the masculine form.
Eg: vrai vraiment (truly) facile facilement (easily) If an adjective ends in -ant or -ent, change -ant to -amment and -ent to -emment.
Eg: évident évidemment (obviously) récent récemment (recently) suffisant suffisamment (sufficiently)
