THE BEST IN ENTERTAINMENT AND CONNECTIVITY

While the cabin in the 900LX upgrade is quieter than ever, no effort has been spared to ensure that what the passenger does hear is technology at its finest.

The new FalconCabin HD+ is built around Rockwell Collins’ Venue HD cabin management system. The system is “exceptionally compact,” combining more functions in fewer boxes, and permitting the easy addition of new technology as it becomes available.

FalconCabin HD+ architecture supports video resolution up to 1080p and is fully compatible with most recent high-definition standards such as HDMI and Blu-ray.

Entertainment upgrades begin with a new USB port in the auxiliary galley. The port permits passengers to download personal entertainment or work-related information from a flash drive, making the contents available through the entire cabin entertainment system. A one terabyte library allows users ample storage for sharable files, like on-demand videos.

For business travelers, staying connected is as critical in the air as on the ground. Recognizing this need, Dassault selected Honeywell’s JetWave Ka-band system to provide high speed in- flight connectivity. The optional system includes a control unit, modem and router and a tail-mounted radome antenna which interface with Jet ConneX, the high speed connectivity service based on the Inmarsat Global Xpress Ka-band satellite network.

With data rates up to 15 Mbps, Global Xpress enables passengers to browse the internet, stream videos or videoconference anywhere in the world, over land or over water, as if they were in their office or at home.

Miller emphasizes that in addition to the myriad of customer choices available in cabin design, operators will be able to fully customize the color schemes, finishes and materials in the new 900LX interior to fit their individual tastes and desires.

The design department has thousands of samples, from paint panels, fabric to veneers to choose from, Miller said. “We’re constantly researching trends and adding samples we believe will be desirable for our customers”.

From within the vast library of Falcon quality approved materials, customers can request personalized details. One client brought in a picture frame and wanted the cabin veneer and trim to match. Another wanted the exterior paint stripe to match that of his Jaguar.

New technology is not always on visual display, and passengers may not always be consciously aware of the pleasing esthetics and increased creature comforts available to them. But in this latest Falcon 900LX everything comes together in a happy blend of what the customer both wants and needs.

After all, the point of cabin design is not to fool customers into thinking they are not flying, but to make them absolutely comfortable with the fact that they are.
