WELCOME Welcome from the Harbour Master
W
elcome to the River Dart! Whether you’re a local or visitor, we’re delighted to have you here. This guide offers useful
information, including facilities, sailing directions, and more. Visit our website at
dartharbour.org for additional details. If you have questions, visit the Harbour Office (6 Oxford Street, Dartmouth) or call us on VHF Channel 11 (callsign DARTNAV). The Dart is a playground for all vessels, offering
safe and sheltered waters. However, navigate cautiously, respecting other users, especially swimmers, paddleboarders, and kayakers. Small boats should steer clear of ferry landing areas. Adhere to the 6-knot speed limit and minimise wash to protect others and the riverbank. Wear lifejackets or buoyancy aids, even on calm days. At night, use proper lighting, and never navigate under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Report incidents via
dartharbour.org/report or by contacting us directly.

it clean. Dispose of litter responsibly, recycle, and prevent oil or waste from entering the water. The river is home to diverse wildlife, including seals and kingfishers, so give them space. We hope you enjoy your visit and welcome feedback to enhance your experience at Dart Harbour!
