chart, and neither did its own predecessors, the 2007 and 2001 editions—though all three have surpassed a million copies sold in total. Of course, The Official Highway Code is the ultimate consistent seller, with the last edition dropping below 1,000 copies for the first time only in the last week of 2021, and for the second time this February, weeks away from the new edition’s release.

achel McLean’s The Fossil Beach Murders dusted off the Bookstat e-book number one for the week ending 16th April. McLean’s
previous titles have become staples in the Bookstat chart—The Corfe Castle Murders has notched up a particularly long string of appearances, as recently as a week ago. The Fossil Beach Murders nudged Lisa Jewell’s
former number one The Night She Disappeared into second place, as Graham Norton’s The Swimmer and Mhairi McFarlane’s Mad About You made their débuts in the top five. Lisa Regan’s Watch Her Disappear and Ember Blake’s Runaway Train also hit the chart’s top 10. Ben Aaronovitch’s Amongst Our Weapons,
the ninth title in the Rivers of London series, surged into the Publisher E-Book Ranking pole for the week ending 9th April. Susan Lewis’ I Have Something to Tell You hit second place as Julia Quinn’s Romancing Mr Bridgerton and To Sir Phillip, with Love continued to chart high.
