SPOTLIGHT ON BUSINESS

In May of 1983, American National Bank opened its doors as a new, locally owned and operated bank based in Ardmore, Oklahoma. This was a time when bank failures were the norm and even the idea of opening a new bank was unheard of and maybe considered to be a venture predestined for failure.

National Bank changed their bank charter from a National charter to a State charter. “National” could not be a part of the bank name and the name was officially changed to American Nation Bank. American Nation Bank is the only American Nation Bank in the Nation!

Today, American Nation Bank continues to be a locally owned and operated community bank. It is one of the fastest growing community banks in our area. ANB has grown to over $400 million in assets with eight locations. American Nation Banking Center locations include Ardmore, Lone Grove, Wilson, Comanche, a 7-day a week banking center located inside Homeland in Ardmore along with two Texas locations in Keller and Saginaw. The annual June, 2017 FDIC Market Share Report lists ANB in second place among banks in market share for Carter County. Coming in 2018 will be ANB’s ninth location in Durant, Oklahoma.

With the continued growth and lack of space in the main bank location, ANB acquired the Ryan’s building located adjacent to the main bank in Ardmore. The building was reconfigured, went through a massive remodel, becoming the ANB Operations Center in 2011. The addition of the Operations Center has also allowed for future space needs. Included in the ANB Operations Center is a large community room, “Presidential Hall”, and a meeting room, the “CEO Room”, that are available for bank use along with availability for nonprofit groups and ANB customers.

To be the best, not necessarily 2

In June 2016, American

the biggest, has always been a top priority for American Nation Bank. What is ANB’s definition of the best? Being the best includes many aspects at ANB. You’ve heard it said by many that the customer comes first. Not only does the customer come first, what is best for the customer is truly a priority.

What makes American Nation Bank different? Why has ANB continued to grow with a level of success unsurpassed in our area? Stop by or call any ANB location and experience the ANB difference. A live person answers the telephone, friendly faces

greet you when you walk in the door, and the comfortable and inviting atmosphere is evident immediately. ANB is a bank that genuinely cares about their customers, communities, neighbors and friends.

ANB was one of the first in the nation to offer a “No Penalty” Certificate of Deposit and offers an array of products and services to serve customers needs. Technology wise, most of the “bells and whistles” are available to ANB customers including the ANB mobile app and mobile deposit. ANB’s Eagle Travel Club is a guided travel and entertainment program for customers and guests and provides outstanding travel opportunities throughout the US and abroad.

Community support and involvement is very evident and another priority for American Nation Bank. In 1995 ANB initiated the ANB Scholarship. The bank awards scholarships to graduating seniors in the areas they service. Students graduating

from Ardmore, Comanche, Dickson, Lone Grove, Plainview, Ringling, Springer and Wilson in Oklahoma and Keller and Saginaw, Texas schools are invited to apply for the ANB Scholarships. Since the inception of the Scholarship, ANB has awarded $250,000 to area students. New for 2016 was the ANB “Pays for A’s” program. Teen students (Middle School & High School) in Oklahoma and Texas may bring their official report cards to their most convenient American Nation Bank location and get paid for each “A” they receive on their report cards. In addition, all graduating seniors that have participated their senior year in ANB’s “Pays for A’s” program are automatically entered to receive a $1,000 ANB “Pays for A’s” scholarship. One ANB “Pays for A’s” scholarship will be randomly drawn each school year. American Nation Bank hopes that the ANB “Pays for A’s” program will give students additional

incentive to strive to do their best and earn A’s on their report cards. “Education is so important, and we wanted to be able to reward and provide incentive to students who have worked to achieve making “A’s” on their report card. Adding the additional “Pays for A’s” scholarship was also designed to encourage high school graduates to continue their education through higher education.” Stated Mr. Jesse Cross, CEO and Chairman of the Board of ANB.

In May, 2016, American Nation Bank was listed as among the top 27 best banks in America in the publication “The 27 Best Banks in America, And Why You Should Care” by John Truman Wolfe. BauerFinancial, an independent financial rating service, awarded ANB again with another 5-Star (highest) rating for strength and stability. These star ratings are based on September 30, 2017 financial data. American Nation Bank is rated as one of the safest in the country. ANB is truly another Ardmore continued success story!
