A retired sociable couple, with a large family of several generations, whose older children enjoy visiting frequently with the couple’s many grandchildren. They also love to welcome friends and like hosting gatherings throughout the year.

Our clients wanted to create a space that was suitable for hosting their large family of several generations, while also providing a welcoming and intimate area to host friends. They were undergoing a large barn extension where the kitchen would take centre stage, so it was important to create a real wow factor that was full of character, while still in keeping with the existing building. Our client had an existing six-sided AGA that they wanted to be a feature and focal point of the kitchen upon entry, so it was important that the cabinets were built to accommodate this.

A designated dog bed area, chimney breast with storage and glazed base units within the island were also requested alongside a large island with a seating area. Lastly, the client wanted something unique with an element of surprise.
