REBTECH NVG Conversion Integrated into Austin Police Department’s New AS350B3e


REBTECH, one of the first civil and


military aviation night vision lighting providers in the world, has announced the initial night vision goggle (NVG) compatible conversion of an AS350B3e recently acquired by the City of Austin Police Department (APD). The addition of this aircraft to the APD Air Support Unit will allow expanded critical sup­


mental type certificated (STC) equip­ ment, as well as integration support, from its facility located in Bedford Texas, a Dallas/Ft. Worth area suburb. REBTECH supports a worldwide civil and military aviation night vision client base with specialized lighting for rotor­ craft and fixed­wing aircraft in varied and diverse mission profiles. The com­ pany also offers 24 hour support for lighting equipment, including repair and spares availability. The APD Air Support Unit expects to


receive their new AS350B3e in August 2013, and will immediately place the air­ craft in service providing enhanced air­ borne law enforcement to Austin and the surrounding Texas communities. 

A New Zealand fleet opera­ tor placed an order for three SD2 kits and a fourth kit was sold to an existing Soloy customer who operates the largest Electronic News Gathering (ENG) and video/film operation based in Los Angeles. This was the third SD2 kit sold to the Los Angeles company. The SD2 kit exchanges the


Eurocopter’s AS350B2 Turbomeca engine with a Honeywell LTS101­700D­2 turbine engine. The kit includes installa­ tion documentation, all required Eurocopter parts, Soloy exclusive parts and the Honeywell engine. “Sales so far this year of our SD2 kits
