Bell Announces a Signed Purchase Agreement for First Subaru Bell 412EPXs Sold in Europe

Bell Textron Inc recently announced a signed purchase agreement for two Subaru Bell 412EPX helicopters to the Republic of Croatia’s Ministry of Interior. This marks a significant milestone in the region, as the first purchase agreement for Subaru Bell 412 EPXs in Europe. The expected delivery date of the aircraft is October 2023.

“The Subaru Bell 412EPX adds increased payload capabilities to the world-renowned Bell 412 platform, and this agreement continues to expand its reputation,” said Duncan Van De Velde, Bell’s managing director, Europe. “We are thrilled to bring the most modern version of the Bell 412 platform to a European customer and showcase its capabilities.”

The Republic of Croatia’s Ministry of the Interior deals with tasks related to criminal, border and special police activities; as well as other activities related to civil protection, firefighting, fire protection, production and trade in explosive substances and weapons, private protection, detective affairs, and mine action.

“The Ministry of Interior is honored to be the first European customer to sign a purchase agreement for the Subaru Bell 412EPX,” said Dr. Davor Božinović, Minister of Interior, Croatia. “We look forward to utilizing its unique capabilities and durability to protect and defend the citizens of Croatia.”

Certified in 2018, the Subaru Bell 412EPX has a maximum internal weight of 12,200 pounds, external weight of 13,000 pounds and up to 5,000 pounds of goods with a cargo hook. The aircraft enables large cargo and personnel transportation with its ability to carry up to 5,385 pounds. The Bell 412EPX benefits from a robust main-rotor gearbox dry run capability, and increased mast torque output at speeds below 60 knots, providing operators the ability to transport more supplies and perform operations more efficiently.

Air Methods Announces $31 Million Investment in Air Medical Services for the State of New York

LifeNet of New York, a subsidiary of Air Methods, recently made a major investment to update and expand the company’s air medical services in the state of New York. This more than $31 million investment included upgraded aircraft and new clinical equipment spanning the state.

This major investment was designed to improve LifeNet of New York’s ability to partner with first responders and local hospitals to collaboratively improve patient outcomes. In total, eight of the 10 aircraft across the state were upgraded, as well as fitted with new IV pumps and ventilators, allowing all the aircraft the ability to carry blood products on board.

These upgraded aircraft also allow a family member to travel with the patient in some cases. And they can accommodate larger patients and more specialty equipment. Additionally, these changes allow the air medical teams to train more healthcare professionals via fly-along educational sessions. The upgraded aircraft include six Airbus EC130s, two EC135s, and an EC145. This is in addition to a preexisting EC145 and Pilatus 12 airplane.

“The people of New York deserve access to the best healthcare services available, and this is what they are getting,” said Director of Sales Aidan O’Connor. “This monumental investment gives us larger aircraft, which allows us to safely transport more patient populations and more lifesaving equipment. We also recognize that during these flights, the ability to take a loved one alongside the patient will help the patient journey through the healthcare system and healing process.”
