“I can say with confidence that it is the absolute best ladder I have ever used to work on an aircraft. It is obvious that you were a mechanic first and that you thought through all the little details that would make it the most functional ladder ever.”

Whelen Aerospace Technologies is proud to introduce the newest addition to the Orion 660 family, the Orion 660 Red, engineered specifically for the rotorcraft market. This advanced all-in-one LED lighting solution integrates a forward position light, tail position light, and red anti-collision light into a single compact assembly.
By consolidating multiple lighting functions into one unit, the Orion 660 Red eliminates the need for a separate beacon and tail position light, reducing system complexity, weight, and installation time. Designed with a footprint and mounting configuration identical to legacy Whelen products, it allows for straightforward retrofit with minimal aircraft downtime.
The solid-state LED design removes the need for external power supplies and delivers enhanced reliability, lower maintenance requirements, and improved electrical efficiency. Available in 28 VDC, the Orion 660 Red is FAA TSO approved and meets TSO C96a Class I and TSO C30c Type I and Type III requirements. It’s another perfect example of Whelen Aerospace Technologies’ commitment to safety, reliability, and innovation available through our authorized reseller network.
