For more than 25 years, Avidyne has been making avionics “For Pilots Who Know the Difference.” Its GPS devices offer “slide-in replacement” of old systems like what you may be using now. In as little as 15 minutes, your helicopters can be back in the air, and your pilots can be enjoying more “heads up” time with easy-to-use navigation that’s quick to learn. You’ll also get: • Touch and Twist: All Avidyne systems use Hybrid Touch, which is touch screen plus knobs and buttons. When touch screens become cumbersome in turbulence, knobs and buttons allow you to manage your mission quickly and easily. • Synthetic Vision: Integrated on all IFDs, Avidyne’s Synthetic Vision provides display of nearby traffic and terrain. Terrain and obstacle alerting adds increased situational awareness for helicopter operators flying in low-altitude operations.

Supracor continues the development of Stimulite®

Honeycomb

seat cushions for the helicopter industry using a revolutionary flexible form of aerospace honeycomb that is extremely lightweight. Like structural aerospace honeycomb, Stimulite® is an optimum strength-to-weight material so seat cushions made from Stimulite®

can be thinner than foam cushions,

while providing a unique level of comfort and increasing head clearance. The perforations in the Stimulite®

keep the body

well ventilated, eliminating the discomfort caused by heat and moisture build-up common with traditional cushions.

Stimulite® has been recognized by the U.S. military and is the

specified ejection seat cushion for the F-18 Hornet fighter jets and multiple types of rotorcraft, including the H60 Blackhawk and and V22 Osprey.

Stimulite® seat cushions are currently being developed for

the Bell 206A/B, 206L series, 407, 412 and Eurocopter AS350/355 aircraft.

“When TEMSCO Helicopters went looking for a new navigation system, we chose the Avidyne IFD550 for our AS350 fleet. Avidyne offered our pilots a simple- to-operate FMS/GPS/NAV/COM that reduced pilot workload and increased situational awareness, giving TEMSCO pilots a better and safer flying experience. One of the differentiating features we found with the IFD550 was the built-in synthetic vision that allows us to really visualize the terrain in the most challenging of flying conditions. Additionally, offering a system with both touch screen plus knobs and buttons adds another measure of safety for our pilots no matter what the weather holds for them here in Alaska. We’d highly recommend any helicopter operator take the IFD550 for a test flight to get the true sense of just how incredibly powerful the Avidyne FMS/GPS/NAV/ COM is compared to others.”

“I was beyond thrilled when I discovered Stimulite®

.

I had been working to improve the comfort of helicopter pilots for several years and I really struggled with finding a replacement for traditional foam. Not only did I find a unique lightweight product that will provide enhanced comfort, Stimulite®

also

allows us to design cushions that provide much- needed increased head clearance in certain aircraft. This technology has been used in aviation for years, and incorporating it into commercial helicopters for crew and passengers is long overdue.”
