Beach Helicopters developed a unique course named “Heli-Pal”. The course was designed for helicopter passengers to bet- ter understand and participate in the flight with minor tasks. While pilot incapacita- tion is rare, as a passenger that has partic- ipated in the course, you will be better equipped to react in an emergency situa- tion by utilizing specific maneuvers cov- ered in the course to get the aircraft safely on the ground. Of course they can’t teach everything

from throughout the country utilizing the aircraft formerly supplied to Fontana. The flights will be in coordination with several local police agencies, allowing hands on police pilot experience for the pilot trainees. The communities and police de- partments will have the aircraft free of charge when students are conducting the training.

California Aviation Services, Inc is a

leader in professional flight training and is one of very few law enforcement spe- cialists in the helicopter industry. FAA ap- proved flight training courses are offered in Riverside, CA. WWW.CALIFORNIAAVIATIONSERVICES.COM

NVG TRAINING In May 2010, Mauna Loa Helicopters

(MLH) established an alliance with Night Flight Concepts to offer Night Vision Goggle Training to their students. MLH was impressed with Night Flight Concepts and the training curriculum they had cre- ated. Using their guidance, MLH was able to create an NVG program that will provide each of their students with the possibility of receiving the training re- quired to be able to act as PIC during an NVG flight. Mauna Loa Helicopters chose to offer

this advance training in an effort to stay on the leading edge of the training indus- try. Night flying is an integral part of each students training and with the addition of the NVGs, improves the level of safety for

everyone involved. Now, Mauna Loa Hel- icopters is looking forward to providing this training not only to their students and customers in Hawaii, but to customers around the entire Pacific Rim. “The impact our NVG program has had

on our capabilities as a training school is profound. I am thankful to be involved in such a process,”

HELIPAL COURSE In a spin-off from the fixed wing

world’s “Pinch Hitter” program, Palm says Noah Haydn-Myer,

there is to know about flying in this two- day course, but participants will come away with a better sense of flying funda- mentals. They will learn how to fly straight and level, make turns, and climb and descend. Participants will also be in- troduce to navigation, communication, in- struments and decision-making. While the course is primarily geared toward private owners and passengers, this is an excellent course for aviation crewmembers as well. The course runs for two-days and in-

cludes ground instruction, simulator in- struction and two hours of Robinson R44 flight time for $1495.00 per person. Bring the family and spend a week in sunny south Florida enjoying all the amenities. Beautiful coastline and beaches, Disney World, Sea World, Miami Sea Aquarium, Busch Gar- dens and many more. Accommodations are priced right for summer guests. WWW.PALMBEACHHELICOPTERS.COM
