“This activity was so much fun. The children represented themselves using spaghetti and loose parts. They looked carefully in the mirror and noticed everything about their appearance.
It involved lots of descriptive language about facial features, length/colour/style of hair, earrings, hair clips, scars etc. The children also developed fine motor skills using the scissors to cut the spaghetti to the desired length.”

“All you need is cardboard and loose parts for this simple pattern-making activity. Draw lines or squiggles and ask children to populate them with loose parts. I used pasta we dyed with paint from our stock of sensory bases, but you could also use buttons, beads, shells or pebbles. Unpainted pasta is just as fun too!”

"A fun activity to practice colour recognition and use those fine motor skills. Harry had to use his pliers to pull the pipe cleaners out of the cardboard to free the coins. An extra challenge was completing it in the correct order as I had purposely layered the pipe cleaners in a certain way."
