Did the children enjoy the story sets? The children really enjoyed being able to


bring the stories to life by using the props in the book sets. The three story sets we were given to review were some of their favourite stories.


Did they have a


favourite? They liked them all, but when we voted the majority chose A Squash and a Squeeze as their favourite.


Would you recommend them


to other nurseries? We would recommend Dear Zoo, the animal finger puppets are really good quality so should last, even with being used again and again by children and staff reading the popular story!


We feel that the Handa’s Surprise story sack would be better if it had props of the fruit from the book. However, we could read it using the props from the set and add some real fruit or children’s drawings of fruit.


How would you rate the story sets out of 10?

Did the children enjoy the story sets? We used Dear Zoo with our younger children


0-2 years. A Squash and a Squeeze and Handa’s Surprise we used in our pre-school room. The children and staff really enjoyed them. There were plenty of props in each bag to engage the children throughout the stories.


Did they have a favourite? In the pre-school room they preferred A


Squash and a Squeeze - we think this is because the story is more familiar to the children. The two-year olds loved Dear Zoo as they had the props and it works well with them as there are lift the flaps which keeps them engaged and focused.


Would you recommend them to other


nurseries? We would recommend all the sets as they are all very popular books which the children love. We have just done a food week and Handa’s Surprise worked really well.


How would you rate the story sets out


of 10? We would rate all these story sacks 10 with A Squash and a Squeeze and Dear Zoo being our favourites.
