Name our fleet competition

As part of the #WaveOfThanks campaign, in partnership with Twinkl, we’re taking our hats off to educators up and down the country, and giving a roaring thank you to proudly show that we appreciate their efforts.

We asked education establishments to put forward a teacher, teaching assistant, cleaner, office worker or anyone else who deserved to be recognised. What better way to show them you recognise their efforts than by naming one of our very own YPO vehicles after them!

Here’s some of the entries we’ve received:

Mark Sutcliffe – Alverthorpe St Paul’s CE (VA) School

Mark is our hero. He carries out all manner of tasks, morning, noon and night – from cleaning to unblocking the drains to watching over the school wildlife – with cheerful good humour and endless patience. His seemingly magical ability to cure all manner of IT ills merely by turning up is legendary!

Mr Sutcliffe is a shining star in our school. He is an amazing caretaker and IT Technician. We don’t know what we would do without him as he helps us all every single day. He is always smiling and nothing is ever too much trouble.

Mrs Akrill – John Hellins Primary School

During the pandemic Mrs Akrill provided food parcels, made home visits and phone calls. She provided 24– hour email support. She sourced laptops and tablets and internet vouchers, sorted Easter eggs, Christmas presents and even cooking lessons for families that needed it. She is an absolute unsung hero and John Hellins is very lucky to have her!

Mrs Molland – Leeming RAF CP School

Our caretaker/cleaner has been in every day since Covid took over our lives! No matter what is asked of her she meets the challenge head on to support every single one of us allowing us all to do our own jobs with our clean safety net around us.

Kathryn Hall – Herne Junior School Iveco Daily 55C16 LWB L3H2 (2013)

Kathy is a Learning Support Assistant, Lunchtime Supervisor, Breakfast Club Manager and School Cleaner. She works incredibly hard in all her roles , always with a smile on her face and is such a good ambassador for our school. Oh, and if she hasn't got enough to do she has also designed, built and is maintaining our school allotment.

Miss Fitzsimons – Lady Barn House School

She is constantly looking for ways to inspire and motivate her pupils to create amazing art projects. Art was so important for wellbeing during lockdown and my children used to look forward to her activities each week.
