Adapting to 2021
During this unprecedented time here at Cosy we want to support teachers as much as we can. They are COVID–19 heroes, and they deserve support, the right resources, space and time.
We’ve been thinking how we can help you as you begin the journey back to school. Balancing delivering the Early Years Curriculum with the safety and reassurance of yourself, your family, your colleagues and parents, whilst maintaining a calm, focussed, warm and supportive environment.
To help you with this, we’ve identified things we think are useful and that you may well already have. We’re here to support your ‘bubble groups’ and inspire you to create an environment in which you can control risk as much as possible. We know for sure that school life will again be different to before you closed, which is why we want to ensure a smooth transition and safety for all.
Our top tips on how to prepare your environment:
Zoned spaces No need to hide away, simple zoning without exclusion
Turn your learning space into small challenging zoning areas, where you can easily manage your small group and have a purpose of play. Build on children’s interests and tune in within your flexible zoning corners, which you can change anytime you need to.
Solo, bubble learning adventures
Did you know many of our big kitchens separate out?
Support children’s individual learning by providing resources for solo play such as clipboard, chalk disc, timers or binoculars.
Play stations will help children be focused and concentrated on their activities for an extended period of time. Create a space in which children will be able to play and learn in their bubbles.
