Precision in every step: empowering independence through innovation

Oliver Smith, operations manager of Frequency Precision, explains how a forward-thinking approach to developing medical alert systems has earned Frequency Precision a valued reputation as a trusted provider of innovative and user-friendly solutions

Frequency Precision is a family-owned business based in Devon, known for its innovative contributions to safety and healthcare technology. Since its founding in 1985, our company has grown into a leading supplier of medical alert systems for domiciliary care and primary healthcare markets. Our company’s mission is straightforward yet impactful: to develop solutions that truly make a difference in people’s lives.

Origins and inspiration The journey of Frequency Precision began with a personal story. Doug Dwyer, the founder, was inspired by his mother’s experience in a care home. She lived with dementia and was unaware of the risks of getting out of bed unassisted. Doug initially developed a pager system to help her call for assistance, but he sought a solution that was more discreet and proactive. This led to the creation of a pressure-sensitive mat capable of detecting movement without compromising privacy. That innovation laid the foundation for Frequency Precision’s signature Airlert technology.

Evolution of Airlert technology Airlert technology has since evolved into a suite of pressure-sensitive devices used in homes, care facilities, and hospitals worldwide. These systems are engineered to detect movement and alert caregivers in real time, helping to prevent accidents and ensuring timely assistance. Floor pressure mats: Placed in doorways

in preventing falls and alerting staff when someone enters a potentially hazardous area. Bed mats: Installed beneath mattresses

and connected to pressure sensors, bed mats detect when a person leaves or occupies the bed. They are ideal for individuals prone to wandering or falling. Chair pressure pads: Designed for seated

individuals, these pads function similarly to bed mats, providing continuous monitoring and alerting careers if someone leaves their chair unexpectedly. Convulsion sensor mats: These mats are

tailored for people with epilepsy, detecting convulsions associated with tonic-clonic seizures and ensuring caregivers are notified immediately. Each Airlert product is built for reliability

and ease of use, allowing seamless integration into various care environments.

Enhancing safety at home Frequency Precision’s commitment to safety goes beyond institutional care. Our home alert systems are designed for elderly individuals or those with medical conditions who live independently. These solutions

provide constant monitoring and instant alerts during emergencies, offering peace of mind to users and our families. The systems are customisable to individual

needs, ensuring the right level of support is provided without compromising independence. Whether it is a simple alert button or a more advanced monitoring setup, Frequency Precision ensures help is always accessible.

Mobile and wearable alert solutions For individuals who value independence and active lifestyles, Frequency Precision provides mobile alert systems equipped with GPS tracking and fall detection. These devices deliver real-time assistance and direct connectivity to emergency response teams. They are particularly beneficial for users who may wander or become disoriented, offering an additional layer of security and reassurance. The capacity to track location and

detect falls ensures that help can be dispatched swiftly, even if the user cannot communicate. These systems blend freedom with safety, allowing users to maintain their routines without compromising wellbeing. Wearable fall detection devices are another

significant offering. Designed for use at home, in assisted living, or in hospitals, these devices provide continuous protection by automatically detecting falls and sending alerts to caregivers or emergency services, ensuring rapid response. The convenience of wearable technology means users are protected at all times, whether walking, resting, or sleeping. These devices are especially valuable for seniors and people
