Even if it is severely damaged and worn, apparently beyond repair, there is still hope. A floor that looks to be in a terrible condition can be totally transformed through renovation, with the final result of a brand-new looking surface.
Furthermore, a renovated floor can
be expected to last equally as long as a new floor before it is worn and in need of maintenance and has the added bonus that the entire process can be undertaken between two and four times before it must be replaced with new flooring. For example, a wooden floor is expected to last for about fifteen years before it needs to be renovated or replaced. However, a wooden floor can be renovated up to four times, which means it can last for a total of sixty years. Considering the significant environmental and cost savings that come with just one renovation, the long-term benefits for care homes are considerable.
