Eldercate launches live online classes for lifelong learners in care homes

The UK’s only online learning for those in senior care, Eldercate, has launched into the UK market. Described as a ‘gym for the mature mind’ it aims to promote lifelong learning among those who are seeking to take up new skills and maintain neuroplasticity. Eldercate will provide over 12 live-streamed courses with an

emphasis on social engagement to later-in- life audiences in care homes. Courses hosted include baking, photography, philosophy, Spanish, French, Italian, art, and health & longevity.

Residential & Home Care Show returns after

three-year absence The Residential & Home Care Show is returning to the ExCeL London on 18-19 May, three years after the previous event. Free for all care professionals to attend, the CPD certified conference programme will focus on the big issues facing the social care sector including recruitment and retention challenges, new employment law, personalisation, integrated care, safeguarding, raising quality, dementia, CQC ratings, which technologies work and business development. “After an extremely challenging few

years for the care profession, this will be the opportunity to come back together and refocus your mind,” a spokeswoman said.

Eldercate by Renaissance Academy aims to promote the fact that you are never too old to learn and is supported by Roy Hodgson CBE, ex-England football manager. Noticing a gap in the market for an often ‘forgotten’ cohort of enthusiastic learners, he saw the opportunity to help provide educational courses to those who

are in elder care. The brand-new online platform is funded by his son, investor Chris Hodgson, who plans on rolling out Eldercate nationwide across care homes over the next two years.

Care Matched on a mission to revolutionise care

A London-based social entrepreneur is on a mission to revolutionise the care sector by offering culturally appropriate care choices.

Maaha Suleiman is the founder of Care

Matched, the world’s first ever medtech company to match care receivers and care workers based on cultural background, language proficiency, skills and experiences, using artificial intelligence. She is passionate about helping people

I noticed my mother’s agency contacting her in the hopes of finding culturally appropriate care for their clients. We have since built Care Matched to ensure that everyone has easier access to culturally appropriate care,” said Suleiman.

“Promising to arm you with strategies, products and services, The Residential & Home Care Show will help you be in the best position to address challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead,” she added.

the recent expansion of Wippet following its launch last October, and comes ahead of a period of major growth as the company continues to establish itself as the leading healthcare marketplace website. Delaney’s responsibility will be to support the company’s growth by introducing care groups to Wippet’s end-to-end buying

functions and time-saving features that make buying in healthcare simple.

Perry’s responsibilities will be

to grow Wippet among the smaller independent care providers for whom the competition and convenience of Wippet will drive real value. Perry will also be

leading the wider digital marketing agenda. Free to the customer, Wippet allows purchasers to buy with ease from one site, with one login, one basket and one consolidated invoice each time they place an order.
