YOUR SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE QUESTIONS ANSWERED


The team here at WASHCO were at the Care Show in October, meeting lots of care home laundry professionals. Over the two days we had quite a few commonly asked service and maintenance questions, so we thought we’d share the answers with you.


Do you cover 7 day a week service? Yes, we understand that some laundries are open 7 days a week and we need to reflect that. Our service offering is tailored to each individual customer to ensure that it meets their requirements. We’ve recently been looking at how we can make it even easier for care homes


to get in touch, introducing web chat and the ability to book a service or a callout online. We introduced online booking in July and weren’t sure how popular it would be; however, by August, we had seen a 36% growth in the number of online bookings.


Our web chat functionality has also been popular, whether it’s someone booking a callout or just asking for advice. We really enjoy the ability to ‘have a chat’ with our customers regularly.


Do your engineers carry parts/stock for all manufacturer machines?


Yes, our engineers carry a wide range of parts. As one of the largest suppliers of spares to the commercial laundry industry, we have relationships with all the key manufacturers and a large stock holding of both parts and machines in our 25 ft sq Newbury warehouse. This makes it easy for us to update van stocks or provide machines in emergency situations. We are also lucky that we have our smart range of machines: WASHCONNECT. If


there is an issue, we have visibility via the cloud which allows us to carry out a level of fault diagnosis before we visit the machine. This means our engineers can be even more prepared, ensuring that they have the part they need.


What’s your average call out response? We aim to be with you within 8 working hours. More importantly, we focus on First Time Fix. We know that it doesn’t matter if we get there quickly if we don’t get your machine up and running straight away. Our aim is to get your machine working quickly and ensure there aren’t inconvenient return visits.


Do you offer both rental and purchase options? We want to be as flexible as possible for our customers, which is why we provide both rental and purchase options. Our popular WASHCOMPLETE subscription is de- signed to make life easy for care homes. For one simple monthly fee, you can choose from a range of high-quality equipment, agree on a contract length that works for you and receive free installation, with 7-day repair cover and annual preventative maintenance.


What are the contract lengths? If you purchase a machine with us, you’ll receive a 2 or 3-year parts and labour war- ranty depending on the individual manufacturer. Our rental contracts are typically between 6 or 8 years.
