additional time – supporting organ perfusion, while the patient heals or further treatments are applied. The education and training programme

covers all five of Getinge’s key business areas, ensuring healthcare professionals receive specialised, relevant training across different aspects of patient care and hospital operations: l Acute Care Therapies: Latest knowledge and best practice for critical care environments.

l Surgical Workplaces: Training on operating room equipment and patient positioning.

l Sterile Reprocessing and Infection Control: Certified training to maintain infection prevention and regulatory compliance.

l Digital Health Solutions: Empowering teams to leverage data and improve clinical workflows.

l Life Sciences: End-to-end training for pharmaceutical and bioprocessing industries, from research to GMP manufacturing.

The study days are designed to give healthcare professionals focused, practical learning experiences throughout the year, and a calendar of the study day dates, along with clear instructions on how to register, allows staff to plan ahead. To ensure improved access to training,

especially for nurses, the experience centre will also be hosting study days at weekends. This includes working with the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons on a weekend study programme, NAHP Advanced Cardiac and Thoracic Course, which will be hosted at Derby on 13-14 September 2025. This hands-on course is designed for nurses, AHPs, SCPs, ODPs, physios, and foundation doctors, supported by Getinge’s clinical teams delivering sessions on ECLS, Ventilation and IABP. therapies, and the company is investing in technology to ensure the ‘Get Educated’ initiative is sustainable for the future. “We are using immersive virtual training with a company from Paris – Pratico Sante. This is interactive and can be used virtually or in a classroom setting. It is used widely in critical care therapies such as ECMO,” Lynn Calvert explained. “Getinge has also invested in a type of ‘video

game’ to support the Surgical Care Practitioner community. It works on developing hand and eye coordination, while ‘having fun chasing butterflies and bunny rabbits’,” she continued. Lynn Calvert revealed that High Fidelity

Simulation is also high on the agenda for ‘Get Educated’: “We have a Califia simulator that requires a number of experts to support comprehensive multi-disciplinary team (MDT) events. The technology is capable of simulating a broad range of clinical scenarios to enhance training and decision-making, and looks at the human factor aspects of healthcare delivery. It functions in a similar way to the simulation that pilots undertake as part of their training,” she explained. For example, the simulation training can

test out a team’s emergency protocols in a safe space. Human factors play a major role
