Supporting excellence: the ‘Get Educated’ initiative

In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare environment, continuous professional development is more important than ever. Advances in technology, evolving treatment methodologies, and updated clinical guidelines require healthcare professionals (HCPs) to maintain and expand their expertise. Getinge has launched ‘Get Educated’ — a comprehensive programme providing high-quality training, education, and simulation from its state-of-the-art headquarters in Derby.

During a recent visit, CSJ saw how Getinge’s state-of-the-art facility is helping professionals across all hospital areas strengthen their skills, stay up to date with best practice, and gain hands-on experience with the latest innovations in medical technology (MedTech). Opened last year, Getinge’s impressive new UK headquarters – brings together it’s MedTech, chemistry and instrument decontamination portfolios in the vibrant industrial and logistics park, Indurent Park, Derby. At the heart of the headquarters is a training and customer experience centre, which has allowed the company to develop a full programme of education to help healthcare professionals (HCPs) advance their knowledge, with an extensive range of in-house study days, virtual training, and webinars. This is in addition to on- site training opportunities held at hospitals and customer sites.

Building on a long history of supporting healthcare education, this modern facility enhances Getinge’s ability to deliver meaningful learning experiences. The dedicated customer experience centre allows Getinge to showcase a wide variety of innovative solutions – from operating tables and ventilators, through to decontamination solutions – enabling HCPs to interact with the technologies, while learning from top experts in their field.

The Get Educated initiative The training facility is now supporting the ‘Get Educated’ initative, which will see even greater numbers of HCPs access high-quality educational experiences. During a recent visit, CSJ spoke with Lynn Calvert, Head of Therapy Development at Getinge, who leads the UK and Ireland Education and Training Team. She explained how the initiative will help HCPs develop the knowledge and skills they need to: l Maximise patient outcomes

l Stay abreast of best practice l Learn about the latest methodologies l Make the most of the latest innovative medical technologies

“Today, the requirement for training and education is stronger than ever and one of the key priorities for Getinge is to create a dedicated space for meaningful learning – away from the demands of the clinical environment,” Lynn Calvert commented. “Taking HCPs out of their daily routine gives them the mental clarity to fully engage and allows them the time to reflect and strengthen their practice, which is not always possible during the pressure of their day-to-day work.”

Study Days “Getinge is a global leader in medical technology and life-saving solutions, and we’re deeply committed to supporting healthcare professionals with best-in-class training and education,” Lynn Calvert continued. “The ‘Get Educated’ initiative highlights the valuable

work of our Therapy Development Team and strengthens our focus on delivering comprehensive training on both our products and therapy best practices. We want the healthcare community to immediately recognise the Getinge brand as a mark of high-quality education. When they attend a Getinge study day, they know they’ll leave better informed and better equipped for their roles. These study days are a great opportunity to gain up-to-date knowledge, develop hands-on skills, and network with peers and industry experts.” Lynn Calvert explained that ‘Get Educated’

training and education is designed for all healthcare professionals who use Getinge products and solutions – including nurses, clinicians, and clinical engineers. Whether they’re new to Getinge’s equipment or looking to deepen their expertise, they can benefit from up-to-date, accredited training that enhances their knowledge and skills. By participating, HCPs not only gain practical insights to use the products safely and
