AfPP Annual National Conference

Shaping the future of perioperative practice

The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) Annual National Conference 2025 is set to be one of the largest gatherings of perioperative professionals in the UK, taking place on 8-9 August 2025 at the University of Warwick. Following the success of last year’s event, AfPP will be returning to Warwick to bring together practitioners from every area of perioperative practice for two days of worldclass education, innovation, and networking.

“We’ve designed this year’s conference to be our most comprehensive yet, blending cutting-edge education with practical skills and wellbeing support. Our new app and expanded streams will help delegates make the most of every moment, whether they attend for one day or both,” said Vicky Wong, AfPP Event Lead.

Promoting excellence AfPP is dedicated to promoting excellence in perioperative care across the UK and internationally. Founded in 1964, AfPP provides education, guidance, and networking opportunities for perioperative practitioners at local, regional, and national levels. Through its journals, guidelines, and events, AfPP drives innovation and best practice in operating theatres to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and practitioner wellbeing. As AfPP’s showcase event, the Annual National

Conference has become the highlight of the year for hospital theatre practitioners across the UK. Eagerly anticipated long before the programme is released, it draws professionals from every corner of perioperative practice, uniting them in a shared commitment to patient safety, innovation, and professional development. From newly-

qualified operating department practitioners to veteran theatre nurses and surgical team leaders, attendees know they will return home equipped with fresh insights, practical skills, and renewed enthusiasm, making this conference not just an event, but a cornerstone of the perioperative community’s calendar.

Flagship event “The AfPP Annual National Conference is truly our flagship event, and each year we’re inspired by the passion and dedication of theatre practitioners who join us,” said Vicky. She added: “We can’t wait to welcome
