Jack Walters Founder and managing director Sterile Management Systems Ltd Jack Walters is a subject matter expert in medical device regulations and quality management systems, as well as packaging, decontamination, cleanroom and sterilisation technologies, in addition to having a broad range of experience in the design, manufacture and regulatory approval of many medical device types. He is the founder and Managing Director of consultancy company Sterile Management Systems Ltd, and the Co-Founder and Commercial Director of Sterility Assurance Limited, a conformity assessment body for sterile service departments. He is active on a number of industry committees, including both the education and research committees in the IDSc. He will be presenting the findings of an independent
systematic review of published scientific literature and adverse event databases into the question of the risks and benefits of using pre-sterile single use implants (such as screws, wires, plates…etc.) versus reuseable implants in caddies on surgical instrument trays.
Rob Warburton MIDSc (Chtd) MBA FCMI CMgr Group Decontamination lead for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, IDSc Midlands Branch Chairman & IDSc Director of Communications & Marketing. Rob has worked in the decontamination industry for over 15 years starting as a Production Manager for Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, before progressing to Sterile Services Manager and DecontaminationLead for Salisbury. Over the years he has been a Sales Executive for Decontamination Chemicals, working for Serchem Ltd, Regional Sales Manager for surgical instruments and instrument repair services with Steris, and Sales Director in the same field for Surgical Instruments Group Holdings LTD. In addition, he was also the Sterile Services and Theatre Stores Manager for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust before entering into his current role at Manchester. He will be speaking about the current gaps in testing for flexible endoscope decontamination, the inadequacy of sampling and test methods for biofilm, the risk of biofilm accumulation in flexible endoscopes, and what can or should we do to prevent this.

Stuart White Decontamination Lead for ESNEFT With over 25 years of decontamination experience in both the public and private sectors, Stuart has managed 24/7 365 days SSD processing in excess of 5m instruments plus flexible endoscopes in both the UK and overseas. Stuart has been credited to have successfully established and managed new, and established Sterile Services. Stuart has managed Reprocessing, Biocompatibility plus Decontamination for CMR Surgical where he utilised his experience and expertise to contribute to the company’s medical device manufacturing, ensuring its products can be safely and easily reprocessed.
Mark Evans Zimmer Biomet I have worked for Zimmer Biomet for twenty-one years, 14 of those years as a warehouse manager 7 in a European role improving warehouse processes/systems around Europe. Part of my job is to ensure that Zimmer Biomet’s loan kits are dispatched from our warehouse to hospitals across the UK & Southern Ireland. I believe my role will be to take part as an industry
representative in a conversation around the presentation and dispatch of loan (& consignment) kits giving information on the amount of trays/kits we dispatch.
