Presentation title: How do we conduct real-world evaluations of new technologies and innovations within healthcare? Real-world evaluations (RWE) can support evidence developed from clinical trials on effectiveness. RWEs help service commissioners and innovators to understand the how, when, for whom, and why, an innovation has worked, or not, in real-world settings. Gathering this additional evidence helps clinicians to make better decisions about patient care and service leads make better decisions about how to run their services. This presentation will explore some of the common approaches to RWEs and discuss the recently completed RWE of PlasmaTyphoon+ at an NHS Decontamination Unit.
