is delivered to patients. The SureWash PPE trainer brings training in a more convenient and accessible form, while ensuring mindfulness and self-care techniques are an integral part of the learning. A training technology takes away the need for the traditional in-person training and, ultimately, this helps to deliver a more interactive approach to learning the practical skill of donning and doffing PPE correctly.

About the author
Dr. Gerard Lacey is the co-founder of the hand hygiene training company, SureWash, since 2011, and occupied many roles before becoming CTO in 2015. SureWash combines artificial intelligence and augmented reality to deliver the best in-class training to the World Health Organization (WHO) protocol. He is a technology entrepreneur who loves turning high tech concepts into products and is a professor in Computer Science at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. His main area of research is human- machine systems.
