As planning begins for Healthcare Estates 2022, IHEEM’s Conference & Exhibition Committee has reviewed and developed the ‘4 Key Themes’ for the event. IHEEM said: “The topics listed below
have emerged as the most relevant to our members and delegates from the wider healthcare EFM community. The 2022 conference programme will therefore provide a focus and opportunity to discuss and explore these important areas.” Pete Sellars, IHEEM CEO, added: “The
key themes that have been developed by our Committee reflect the discussions that I am having with our members, other professional bodies, and those within the wider sector around the topics and issues with the greatest impact on them and their organisations both now and in the future. Focusing on these principal areas will enable attendees to gain and share knowledge, experience, and ideas, with other professionals. I am particularly pleased to see ‘Engineering’ feature as a distinct theme, as I believe that this is a first for our conference. We are now developing the two-day CPD-accredited programme in line with these themes, and

Estates 2022 Conference are: n Workforce – focusing on apprentices, and recruitment and retention, in addition to training and development, re-skilling, and well-being.
n Engineering & Facilities – focusing on key engineering services, infrastructure resilience, and post-COVID innovation and best practice to support the complex needs of critical services and patient safety.
n Strategic and Capital Planning – discussing the introduction of the Integrated Care Systems, innovation through the New Hospital Programme and the digital agenda, and space planning and utilisation.
n Net Zero – highlighting Net Zero strategies, targets, and objectives, from a services, infrastructure, and supply chain perspective.
