introducing
A new magazine for a young industry
Welcome to the first issue of Plastics Recycling World, a brand new magazine dedicated entirely to the plastics recycling sector. The magazine is published by AMI in the same digital format as AMI’s other successful magazines focused on compounding, moulding and extrusion. It will be available to view free-of-charge online, and we will send you an email with a link to each online magazine as soon as a new issue is published. So what does Plastics Recycling World
offer to you? Sources of information vary quite considerably for companies involved plastics recycling. Unlike general plastics magazines which only dip their toes into recycling, Plastics Recycling World is specifi- cally written for all companies involved in the conver- sion of plastics waste to recycled polymer materials. Our coverage will include the latest technology for
shredding, separation, washing, sorting, processing, filtration, compounding and pelletising. The features, written by journalists with years of experience of the plastics and recycling industries, will also focus on the additives that improve the properties and performance of recycled materials, along with other important areas such as inspection.
The magazine is also unique in its global scope. Not
only will we bring you the innovations from the plastics recycling industry in Europe, but also developments in the large and growing markets of North America and Asia. In addition to in-depth features, Plastics Recycling World will update you with news on policy and regulation, company investments, market trends and more so that you are always up to speed on the fast-chang- ing world of plastics recycling.
AMI is launching this magazine as part of a
new commitment to the plastics recycling industry. This commitment also involves events

dedicated to the sector, such as AMI’s Plastics Recycling Technology conference in Germany in June. In 2018, AMI will hold the first Plastics Recycling World Exhibition, giving the industry a dedicated and focused platform to share innovations and ideas. The event takes place on 27-28 June alongside AMI’s Compounding World Expo in Messe Essen, Germany. The plastics recycling industry is still a
relatively young one, but the signs are good for its development. As sustainability has risen up the agenda of politicians, corporations and consumers, so too has the focus on plastic products and their environmental impact. The drive for growth in plastics recycling is being supported by the European Commission and its Circular Economy
plans, by brand owners such as Unilever and P&G, by NGOs like the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, by industry organisations and by individual companies. Many challenges lie ahead, but the plastics recycling industry is already demonstrating it has the expertise to deliver the innovation that is needed. Innovation is shown by companies covered in this
issue, in features on sorting, melt filtration, shredder technology and additives. We are sure Plastics Recycling World will deliver to you all the information you need to understand the challenges and opportunities as the plastics recycling sector grows. If you have news on your company’s new products and
investments that you would like us to consider in the editorial pages of Plastics Recycling World, please email your press releases to me at
