The pneumatic nipper is fully integrat- ed, eliminating the need for a control cabinet, which in turn reduces the robot’s cost and foot- print. It can also be equipped with a vacuum circuit enabling the device to remove finished parts, and the company says additional versions are already being planned. Perhaps most notably, this model becomes the 128 model when used in conjunction with Wittmann’s R9 control. The R9 control, which has been refined and modified since first being introduced at K2016, has recently been expanded to include additional functions such as flexible adjustment of the vacuum monitor- ing, logical grouping of commands, and OPC-UA interface which facilitates communication with host computer systems.
