The pneumatic nipper is fully integrat- ed, eliminating the need for a control cabinet, which in turn reduces the robot’s cost and foot- print. It can also be equipped with a vacuum circuit enabling the device to remove finished parts, and the company says additional versions are already being planned. Wittmann also unveiled its new Primus 28 robot,
the latest in a range well known for its durability and affordability which has now been designed for injection moulding machines from 150 to 400 tonnes, and has increased load capacity of up to 15 kg as well as an extended Y axis. Perhaps most notably, this model becomes the 128 model when used in conjunction with Wittmann’s R9 control. The R9 control, which has been refined and modified since first being introduced at K2016, has recently been expanded to include additional functions such as flexible adjustment of the vacuum monitor- ing, logical grouping of commands, and OPC-UA interface which facilitates communication with host computer systems.
