Bericap expands with four production plants
Closures specialist Bericap has continued its geograph- ical expansion – opening new production facilities in Africa, South America and South East Asia. The company has opened new plants in Nairobi (Kenya) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and acquired production facilities in Lima (Peru) and Durban (South Africa). It now operates 30 production sites in 25 countries. The 3,500 m2
facility in
Nairobi, Kenya will focus on making closures for the lubricant and food & beverage industries. From here, it also exports
closures to 10 African countries. “The new plant in Kenya is a milestone in our expansion journey in Africa,” said Oguz Bursali, manag- ing director of Bericap in East Africa. Further south, Bericap
acquired the closures business of Nampak in South Africa earlier this year. Its plant, in Durban, will

supported by Bericap teams in Brazil and Argentina. Aurel Forgaci, managing
director of Bericap do Brasil, said: “The close collabora- tion between various
Bericap teams and sites in South America enables us to deliver added value to our customers.” Prior to this, production in Bericap Vietnam began in mid-October – and the plant has since passed all manda- tory external audits. “Tamper-evident closures
are particularly relevant for manufacturers in the Vietnamese market, who are keen to protect themselves against product piracy,” according to Swee Heng Lee, managing director of Bericap Vietnam.
