Robot and sales developments at Engel

Engel is responding to increased global demand for robots and integrated system solutions for injection moulding production by investing €11m into its Dietach location in Austria. Production, logistics, the apprentice workshop and the office building will all be expanded and modernised in two construction phases commencing in May. Founded in 1980, the Dietach plant

currently develops and produces three robot series: the Viper linear robot, the E-pic pick-and-place robot, and the Pic A sprue picker. In total, the extension will create a usable floor space of more than 3,000 m² and work includes modernising the flow assembly line.

6 Engel also announced that it now

offers its customers a pay-per-use model on top of classical machine purchases, which helps processors reduce their investment risk while boosting flexibility in production. The pay-per-use model allows

processors to avoid the risk of binding capital or the need to seek approval for substantial investments, meaning that the procurement process can be concluded faster. At the end of the agreed contractual term, the customer has the option of either purchasing the machine or allowing Engel Used Machinery, the pre-owned machine company in the

Engel robots are manufactured at its site in Dietach, Austria

Engel Group, to take it back. The pay-per-use model also assures high machine availability, as all produc- tion cells delivered in the scope of the model feature the online support and remote maintenance tool E Connect.24 and are regularly maintained by Engel service technicians. www.engelglobal.com
