NEWS ABC to acquire WMGT


ABC Technologies, supplier to the North American automotive industry, has entered into an agreement to acquire WMGT from the Bierer family for $165m (€152m). Founded in 1972, WMGT


is a leading Tier-1 and Tier-2 supplier to major automo- tive OEMs with facilities across North America. Along with an extensive portfolio


of complementary exterior products, it provides complex tooling for injec- tion moulded exterior and interior parts, lighting moulds, and optic inserts. In 2022, WGMT started construction of its second facility in Mexico. Terry Campbell, President and CEO of ABC Technolo- gies, said: “This acquisition strengthens ABC’s exterior


products offering, expands our injection moulding technical expertise, and brings additional value- added tooling in-house.” The transaction is

Mergon Mexico sets up shop to boost N American production

Technimark expands medical facility in Ireland


Technimark is doubling the size of its medical moulding plant in Longford, Ireland. The €26m expansion will include Technimark’s first European Innovation Centre, incorporating space to house designers and engineers as well as a complete production lab to perform prototype manufacturing. In addition to the Longford expan-

sion, Technimark recently acquired a 62,000 m² facility adjacent to its US headquarters and has major expansions underway at sites in the UK, Germany and China to support recent growth in the medical market. The company currently operates a total of 13 manu- facturing facilities across the world. “A key component in our organic
