EXTRUDER OF THE MONTH

Jayshri Propack Head office:

CEO: Founded:

Ownership: Profile:

Private

Jayshri Propack, founded in 2009, is a manufacturer and distributor of barrier flexible packaging – making films using “complex polymer science and proprietary water-quenched technology”. Products include films for thermoforming, pouches and bags. The bulk of its business is driven by global food companies, and it extrudes 3-, 5-, 7- and 9-layer films – as well as offering lamination, processing and printing.

Product lines:

The company makes film primarily for the food market, but also serves sectors like medical. Its flexible food packaging is used for fresh, baked and processed foods, in forms including wicketed bags, vertical FFS and vacuum pouches. Its thermoformed films are often used to package meat and cheese, as are its clear vacuum pouches. The company has begun producing a new generation of lamination films under the brand names Jaqva+ and Nine+, which are used mainly for retail product presentation due to their high clarity and transparency. There are options of PA/ EVOH films, lay flat films for adhesive lamination, increased strength and stability to sustain high temperatures, and both easy peel and anti-fog web stock.

Factory location:

The company has a single manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad – where it produces all its products. Much of its production technology is sourced from Europe – including a triple bubble line from Germany’s Kuhne and the recent installation of a seven-layer Varex II blown film line from Windmöller & Hölscher.
