Cosmo adds BOPP plant to boost output

Cosmo First of India has commis- sioned a new BOPP packaging manufacturing line at its plant in plant located at Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The line, which has an annual output capacity of 81,200 tonnes, will increase the company’s total BOPP capacity by around 40% to 277,000 tonnes.

It is equivalent to an investment of

around US$40 million. The line will help Cosmo further

expand its product portfolio across speciality films and packaging – which have been growing at a CAGR of 10% for the last six years, it says. It expects to launch more new speciality films this year. “We expect the line to get filled fast due to a favourable gap in supply and demand in the domestic indus- try,” said Pankaj Poddar, group CEO Cosmo First. www.cosmofirst.com

sheet systems (Connect/Prime). Production of these items will be inte- grated into Exolon’s manufacturing facility in Nera Montoro, Italy. Exolon says the acquisition enhances its existing product range, especially in the construction sector. For Corplex, the sale aligns with its decision to focus on its core busi- ness: the extrusion of polypropylene sheets and their conversion into tailored applications in logistics, industrial packaging and reusable transport. www.exolongroup.com
