frames of Nordmeccanica lines. This prevents dust particles from falling onto the web and provides bi- directional scanning capabilities for the gauging head. All data collected by the sensor is managed and processed by Nordmeccanica’s machine board electronics, allowing closed-loop control with the coating head. This ensures consistency and compliance with safety requirements, protecting converters under OEM guarantees and liabilities. The system also offers a single screen interface for both machine HMI and CWM control, so customers can display the sensor output as a straightforward display of actual coating weight or as an automatic closed-loop control of the coating head. Nordmeccanica oversees installation of the system on both new machines and during retrofits.
Faster results Atlas has introduced its next generation Xenotest 220 and 440 xenon-arc instruments for accelerated weathering testing. They feature expanded test method support and improved integration with lab networks. Designed for demanding applications in the polymer industry and others, the upgrades simplify operation while raising test consistency and reliability. “One of my favourite features is the extension of the test libraries,” said

Oliver Rahäuser, senior product manager at Atlas. “It makes setting up your Xenotest significantly easier.” The air-cooled, rotating-rack
Xenotest 220 and 440 simulate the effects of sunlight, heat and moisture to accelerate material testing under controlled conditions, with a high sample capacity in a compact footprint.
Both models accommodate up to 38 specimens, with supported formats ranging from 90×75mm to 285×75mm and up to 10mm thick – allowing labs to test everything from thin films to moulded parts without requiring a larger system. A redesigned 10.1in XenoTouch II interface improves visibility and navigation of the Xenotest while aligning with the Atlas Ci Weather- Ometer and Suntest instruments – offering a consistent operator experience across all Atlas’s xenon-arc platforms. Set-point monitoring functionality allows users to define all test parameter tolerances and receive real-time alerts when conditions drift beyond limits.
