K2025 | EXHIBITION REVIEW

2025: visitor numbers hold despite a “difficult climate”

In the face of a “difficult economic climate”, visitor numbers to K2025 remained stable compared to the last edition – with an increase in the number of international attendees

Visitor numbers at this year’s K show – held in Dusseldorf, Germany across eight days in October – remained flat compared to the last show in 2022. The organiser, Messe Düsseldorf, says around 175,000 visitors (from 160 countries) attended, “meaning that K attendance remained stable”. “K2025 demonstrated the strength and interna-

tional reach of our industry,” said Thorsten Küh- mann, managing director of the plastics and rubber machinery division of VDMA. Nearly three-quarters (73%) of visitors came

from abroad, including a strong presence from China (6,300 visitors) and India (6,400 visitors). In addition, around 10,000 visitors came from the US and Brazil. At the same time, the show filled all 18 halls with 3,275 exhibitors from 66 countries. “The environment we have to navigate remains challenging,” said Ulrich Reifenhäuser, chairman of the K2025 exhibitor advisory board. “But it is in such times that the strength of our industry becomes visible.” Messe Düsseldorf said the “difficult economic

climate” meant that many companies came to the show with “subdued expectations” – but found “the mood across the exhibition outstanding”. Marius Berlemann, chief operating officer at Messe Düsseldorf, said: “K has demonstrated once again how much innovative power and dynamism this sector holds.” The following pages include launches from this

year’s event. Many other technologies were seen at the show and may feature in future editions in their relevant subject areas. The next K show is held on 18-25 October 2028. www.k-online.de

Atlas launched its updated Ci3000 Weather-Ome- ter at K2025, which enables accelerated weather- ing and lightfastness testing. It delivers accelerated weathering by exposing materials to controlled cycles of xenon arc light, heat, moisture, and spray – compressing years of natural exposure into a few weeks of lab time. “This update makes the Ci3000 even easier to use and better connected to today’s faster, more integrated testing workflows,” said Chelsea Todd, product marketing manager at Atlas. Atlas has also upgraded its Suntest XLS and XXL

models, adding the XenoTouch II 2.0 interface, expanded libraries of standardised test methods, and enhanced remote-monitoring software, WXView II. The Suntest instruments now share the same user experience found on the Ci-Series and Xenotest
