Azek, which was founded in 1983, is a US-based producer of wood-plastic composite ‘outdoor living products’ such as decking, railing and fencing. It sells a wide range of its own branded products, which are typically made from polyethylene and PVC – of which an increasing amount is recycled. It claims to be the largest vertically integrated PVC recycler in the country.


Product lines:


The company has a broad portfolio of products. Azek Building Products makes products under two divisions: TimberTech and Azek Exteriors. Its TimberTech brand offers capped polymer and composite decking, as well as railing, porch, lighting and paver products, while Azek Exteriors makes siding, trim, and moulding products. In addition, its Ultralox brand produces railing products, Struxure supplies pergolas and cabanas, and Intex Millwork designs ‘exterior architectural elements’. Its other brands are Versatex and Scranton Products.


Factory locations:


The company is headquartered in Chicago, and also has production plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania. In addition, Minnesota-based Ultralox and Georgia-based StruXure also have production facilities. The company also runs a number of recycling facilities across the country: it says around 85% of its composite decking and 60% of its PVC decking is made from recycled materials.
