President: Founded:

Ownership: Profile:

Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Marcia Coulson 1987

Private

Eldon James, founded in 1987, began as a manufacturer of injection-moulded medical components and later expanded into tubing products. It now produces a range of medical-grade tubing and formed tubing, as well as a proprietary line of more than 6000 fittings. The company does not use PVC in the manufacture of its products, but uses a variety of materials including nylon, polypropylene, HDPE and PVDF.

Product lines:

The company offers a variety of tubing products. In the medical and pharmaceutical sector, its Flexelene tubing is available with a range of features, including low extractables, high clarity and low oxygen permeability. It also offers Kflex tubing – lined with Kynar – and EJ Prene for peristaltic pumps. In addition, it has Flexelene grades for general industrial applications in a variety of sizes, colours, and styles. There is also a range of anti-microbial tubing that incorporates silver, which helps to inhibit bacterial accumulation and biofilm growth.

Factory locations:

The main headquarters – with manufacturing facility – in Fort Collins occupies over 107,000 sq ft, with 42,000 sq ft dedicated to class 7 cleanroom manufacturing. This cleanroom houses five extrusion stations to produce its tubing products. A second facility in Denver covers 75,000 sq ft, with a 15,000 sq ft Class 7 cleanroom for injection moulding, extrusion, and assembly. The facilities also include non- cleanroom production of tubing and connectors for industries including medical, food and beverage and automotive.
