Last year UK-based twin screw extruder and component maker Xtrutech opened a new Innovation Centre for process trials at its headquar- ters in Stoke-on-Trent. The facility is equipped with two models from its range — an XTS19 machine with 19mm diameter screws and an XTS35 with 35mm diameter screws — as well as a selection of XTS ancillary items, including an M5 High-Speed Mixer and MKV Compactor. Italy-based Bausano has a long track record in the design of plastic extrusion lines. This includes systems for production of compounds and pellets from either virgin and recycled PVC (and other resins), which are based around its MD Plus line of contra-rotating extruders. The MD Plus machines use the company’s multidrive transmission system, which distributes the torque stress over four
motors and bearings. Benefits are said to include reduced risk of failure, extended machine life, and lower energy consumption. Pelletising lines can be supplied complete with feeding plant, melt filters, die head, cutting unit and pellet cooling system.
