Filtec, an Italian, family-owned company that specialises in the design and manufacture of customised pelletising systems, says that it recently supplied its UW Lab system to several customers seeking compact yet high-performance solutions for their laboratory activities or small-scale produc- tion. It is described as a versatile underwater pelletising unit designed to handle throughputs of up to 50 kg/h, depending on the type of material, and is ideal for pilot lines, formulation testing, and small-batch production. Filtec said that in the facilities where it has already been installed, UW Lab has proven its effectiveness on a wide range of materials including various grades of PP along with PE, thermoplastic elastomers (SEBS, SBS, TPE), and various polyesters such as PET.


Pellet sorting Inspec.tech has upgraded its Raw Material Inspection (RMI) pellet inspection and sorting systems with improved cameras and lighting


technology, including smaller defect detection and alternative light sources including UV lighting strategies if required. Additional developments include enhancements to camera and lighting posi- tioning for improved detection and rejection of defects based on size, shape, colour, contamina- tion such as black specs or burnt material, and cross-contamination.
