China recognition Cutting edge technology is now spreading far and wide. When the 2025 Jiangsu Province ‘Three Firsts and Two Innovations’ list, which recognises cutting- edge products and technologies, was released, it featured Chinese company Useon for its achieve- ments in high-end PP extrusion pelletising equip- ment. The recognition was due to a large scale PP pelletising line with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes/yr being independently designed, manufactured, and installed in the workshop of a major domestic petrochemical enterprise. Useon said that by continuously overcoming challenges in key core technologies, the equipment has achieved a level of stable mass production, expanding the custom- er’s profit margins in high-end markets. The project was included in the ‘First Set’ of the list, indicating the first time a major equipment or product has been developed and used in China. “Polyolefin extrusion pelletising systems have long been constrained by foreign technology
barriers with equipment procurement cycles reaching up to 14 months and costs being ex- tremely high,” the company explained. “Through localised technology breakthroughs, Useon has shortened the delivery cycle to 10 months while ensuring equivalent technical performance, significantly reducing customers’ procurement costs and enabling production to start months earlier. This is expected to generate additional output value of up to RMB 300m (€36m).”
