SHOW PREVIEW | CHINAPLAS 2023
Right: BASF will show a new Ultramid PPA for E&E applications
BASF will show a new polyphthalamide (PPA) compound at Chinaplas developed for moulded housings of IGBT (insulated-gate bipolar transistor) semi-conductors. Ultramid Advanced N3U41 G6 LS is described as a laser sensitive, halogen-free flame retarded compound that combines high thermal stability with low water uptake and good electrical properties. The UL-certified grade offers a Com- parative Tracking Index (CTI) of >600V and an electrical RTI (Relative Thermal Index) value of 150°C. The halogen-free formulation helps avoid the risk of contact corrosion.

Cargill will exhibit for the first time at Chinaplas 2023, presenting the range of specialty plastics additives it acquired when it bought Croda Performance Technologies last year. The Crodamide range of slip and anti-block additives —which will get a new name at the show — will head up the display. The company will also present its Ionphase permanent static control solutions, Atmer anti-static and anti-fogging additives, Incroslip torque release additives, IncroMold mould release and anti-scratch products, and IncroMax additives for engineering polymers.

quick change feeder, with ActiFlow smart bulk solid activator and Electronic Pressure Compensation (EPC), in combination with a 2400 Series vacuum receiver for refill. Coperion will be sharing its stand at Chinaplas with Herbold Meckesheim, which produces turnkey plants for plastics recycling and was acquired by Coperion’s parent Hillenbrand last year.

has a 25mm screw and offers the same Do /Di
screw ratio of 1.55 and maximum specific torque of 11.3 Nm/cm³ as all larger machines in the STS extruder series,
allowing simple scaling up of production parameters. It provides a
screw speed of 1,200 min-1 and can provide throughput
rates of up to 110 kg/h. The display will also include

Kraiburg TPE will present a number of new TPE introductions at Chinaplas, including the latest additions to its Thermolast R recycled product family that are targeted at Asia Pacific consumer and industrial markets. The company says the Thermolast R RC/FC/PCR/ AP series is aimed at the consumer market and contains 9-38% post-consumer recycled content, depending on the hardness. Grades comply with FDA CFR21 food contact regulation, as well as REACH and RoHS SVHC requirements. Aimed at industrial applications, Thermolast R RC/PCR/AP grades contain 25-48% post-consumer recycled

to the Technyl 4Earth portfolio, which is focused around more sustainable PA6 and PA66 compound formulations. Technyl 4Earth A1E 218 V30 BK 34NG LP is a sustainable variant of its current refrigerant- resistant grade; Technyl 4Earth HFFR flame retardant PA grades are available in grey and white and incorporate recycled raw materials. Domo is currently building a new plant to compound Technyl PA materials at Haiyan in China. It will supplement its existing compounding operation at Jiaxing and will start production in early 2024.
