A good nose for compost


Javaneh Mushroom Company is a family-run company in Iran. It consists of a mushroom farm with 20 large growing rooms, and a spawn factory and - since 2011 - a compost company, the largest in the country. Every week they produce 1750 tons of good quality, phase III compost in 12 bunkers and 11 pasteurisation tunnels. This compost is for their own use, but also for mushroom growers in the region, and for customers up to 1200 kilometres away (!). The photo shows consultant Con Hermans from AdVisie, who wrote a
