obviously made travelling more difficult and people have often continued to work with the strains they are already familiar with. But change is happening, people are relaxing more and trying our new things. Russia, Hungary, Ireland and England are key markets for us, where we supply a part to Monaghan Mushrooms, and of course the Netherlands and Poland. Gains can be made in the mechanised harvesting segment in the Netherlands. We have a new strain for this market: Lambert 919.
We are also running a lot of trials in the Nether- lands with Speed spawn, a mixture of 13 pro- ducts instead of traditional grain spawn, which colonises the compost faster.
We make spawn from millet, rye and Speed spawn. We have our popular 901 as a standard manual picking strain, the 920 that forms pinheads faster, and the 919 that will replace the 931 as the strain for mechanised harvest. And a strain for brown mushrooms is on the horizon!”
