Voluntary organisation PUM Netherlands senior experts (PUM) in The Hague operates in about 30 developing countries around the world. One of the volunteers is for- mer Poultry World editor- in- chief Ad Bal. He visited Bang- ladesh last November to discover the best way PUM can offer advice there. He also gave advice to five smaller poultry companies.

Huub Savelkoul is professor and head of the Cell Biology and Immunology group in the department of Animal Sciences at Wagenin- gen University. He is currently working on a research project which focuses on ‘Nutrition- based gastro-intestinal health promotion in agricultural animal husbandry’.
