MANAGEMENT ▶▶▶
Small and medium-sized enterprises get their chicks from the large integra- tions. Tomas Poultry Farm owned by Ranjan Kumar Das is just such a business. He keeps around 6,000 broilers in simple poultry houses. The chicks spend their first days under electric breeding covers.
The large integrations do not take any risks. Outsiders can- not enter the company easily. After a thorough shower and disinfection, you might reach the yard but not the stables.
The tempera- ture and hu- midity in the hatchery are maintained at a constant level. This is very impor- tant for the hatching pro- cess and its outcome.
