the 100-mile radius of an electric [battery],” he said. “And if the technology were here today, to have a 500-mile radius on the same charge, then I would go 100 percent electric. To me it makes too much sense not to, especially when you consider that maintenance costs and all the return on investment that’s been done years prior to this. There are tangible numbers there that suggest cost wise it just makes more sense to go electric.”
Culpeper County Public Schools, Virginia Culpeper County Public Schools in Virgin- ia recently received delivery of its first two electric buses under the Volkswagen Diesel Emissions Environmental Mitigation Trust. The proposal was submitted in May 2021, the contract was signed that September, and the buses were on the road this January. Laura Hoover, the director of communication and grants, said the process took a while due to supply chain disruptions.
