Stewart Remembered Paul Stewart retired from the West Virginia Department of Education as state director of student transportation over 30 years ago but remained close to the school bus industry until his death on Dec. 15. The founding member of NAPT and NASDPTS was 100 and made his final industry appearance in Kansas City in October. Read more at

Catch Up On Industry News The first day of winter was Dec. 21, but snow storms hit the Midwest and East Coast early this year. First Student shared safety tips for drivers, students and parents during the winter season. Then, Bendix gave tips to make sure your fleets are prepared for the dropping temperatures and icy roads. Leander ISD added 24 new Blue Bird propane buses
to its fleet last month, after receiving a grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Thomas Built Buses celebrated a delivery of new Safe-
T-Liner C2 school buses. These buses are equipped with the new Detroit DD5 engines. Meanwhile, Daimler Trucks North America announced that Detroit Connect Analytics extended its services to additional truck models. PACCAR held its annual awards, which recognized Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems as one of the 2018 SPM Leaders. Cummins, Inc. and Cummins Emissions Solutions were also recognized as 2018 SPM Achievers. Read more at:
