Jaime Ramon started as a fueler and
worked his way up to mechanic. He spent the past 16 years in pupil transportation, serving the last four as shop foreman. He said he enjoys working with his crew at Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District in Texas, as they are all will- ing to do what it takes to get the job done. “Jaime works countless hours to lead
our technicians and shop staff towards success daily,” Patricia Ducote, assistant director of transportation for Goose Creek, wrote her in nomination form. “When we have a technician struggling to get a job completed or gets frustrated because something is not going right, Jaime knows how to swiftly approach the technician, bring calmness and walks them through the process so that they can complete the
task at hand, leaving the technician feeling accomplished and proud.” Ducote added that Ramon is very prideful and strives for excellence in maintaining the fleet in tip top shape as well as being safe for the students transported. “Jaime ensures that our shop team stays abreast of all industry updates involving the school bus by ac- tive communication,” she added. “During community events, Jaime ensures the buses for the transportation department look great by putting in countless hours decorating or creating last minute ideas to place on buses just to see our commu- nity and our kiddos smile. Jaime is a big part of GCCISD as he has been with the district for 16 years. His commitment and dedication to excellence shows daily.”
