The State of Mechanic Pay, Performance & Satisfaction


Garage operations are practically never reported on by the outside news media. But School Transportation News recognizes that maintenance is a vital component of the school bus industry. In December, we emailed survey questions to 3,786 transportation directors, supervisors and fleet managers nationwide. A total of 211 readers responded, for a response rate of 5.6 percent. Here is what they reported about their shops.


MECHANIC PAY
