Irene Farias, a school bus driver at Brewster Central School District in New York, is improving the transportation department’s morale. She is encouraging more positive interactions with the student bus riders by decorating the staff’s safety vests. Heartbreak


Grant Reppert (right), the retired director of transportation for Gwinnett County Public Schools and past president of the Georgia Association for Pupil Transportation, died on Nov. 27, 2019, from cancer. The former NAPT board member was 68. Read more at stnonline.com/go/6h.


A North Carolina Head Start school bus was hit by a tractor-trailer, which caused the bus to roll over three times. Both adults and eight children on board were taken to the hospital, but there were no fatalities. Visit stnonline.com/go/wr for more.
